O'Reilly Lillicrap

Brisbane City and Suburban  law firm

CBD professionalism with the convenience of suburban locations.

About Us

O’Reilly Lillicrap has its origins at our Carina office where Mark O’Reilly commenced practise in 1991.  The office was very humble and was manned by Mark and a 16 year old Assistant, Adele Watson, who is still part of our team.

Mark O’Reilly and Mark Lillicrap have worked together since 1992.

The firm has undergone significant growth since then and now has 3 offices comprising the original Carina office (which has been expanded), our Morningside office and our City office.

Our City office came into existence through the acquisition of the firm Thompson Redhead.  Since the acquisition of that firm, we have moved the City office to bigger premises to accommodate our growth.

While growth is perhaps an indicator of some success, we would prefer to be judged by our level of service.

Our firm has adopted a more informal approach to dealing with clients without compromising the level of service provided to them.

There are a number of adages which perhaps summarise our approach to service and to business.    They include:

1.                    Try to send every client away with a smile on their face;

2.                    Give advice – a client may want to know what we would do if we were in the client’s shoes; and

3.                    If we look after our clients and look after our staff, the business will look after itself.

As well as adopting a more informal approach to clients in order to put things into layman’s terms, we are very focused on providing a professional, yet relaxed work environment.  We are committed to working as a team, despite the fact that we have 3 offices.  Some of the things that we do differently to other firms include:

1.                    A firm wide meeting every working day in order to correlate the activities of the members of our team, dealing with administrative issues and building rapport between the offices.

2.                   Regular office functions, including annual awards to staff for any embarrassing gaffs that didn’t escape attention of other staff members – “The O’Crap Awards”.

3.                    Wearing polo shirts on certain days (usually a Friday) in order to raise funds for various charities.  Quite often these charities are nominated by a member of staff.

4.                     Recognising staff who have been with us for in excess of 5 years – you’ll have to ask us about the name of the award!
